Can you re-use my gold?
I can almost always find a way. I do what I call a melt and roll, or maybe just a roll. Yellow gold is far more adaptable than white gold, and higher carat is better than 10k* but if it has sentimental value, I can at least incorporate it.
*Is 10kt better than 14kt?
No. Straight from the jeweler, it's harder, but 10kt is nearly 60% base metal (41.7% gold), which is attacked by common houshold cleansers, pool chemicals and such. You can't see it, but it gets brittle. 14kt is 58.5% pure gold, and much more durable.
Do you buy jewelry?
I buy gold. I do not buy used stones, or sell used jewelry. I pay a fair price, and if I believe you can do better selling your gold as used jewelry, I will tell you so. I will credit gold that I don't use when doing a melt and roll.
Why should I come to you?
I have been the Goldcrafter's Corner for 36 years. Literally thousands of original custom creations, from little silver projects to big gold statements- I work with you, from sketch book to finished jewelry, and I stand behind my jewelry. I tell you up front if it's not a good idea, I do what I can to make it work if it's what you want. What's important is creating what YOU want.
DO YOU OFFER GIFT WRAPPING?
For jewelry purchases, sure. However, I carry such a wide variety of shapes, sizes and mediums, with varying fragility, that I have to say - maybe?
do you buy or reuse silver?
Usually not. I have reworked silver, but it is not cost effective, unless the piece has sentimental value. I do not generally buy silver, either, but I have for instance, traded extra silverware for turning a few pieces into jewelry.
CAN I CHANGE or cancel MY ORDER?
If it is not custom and hasn't been shipped yet, yes. If it's custom and has not been begun (including ordering the materials), yes. If I bought the materials, and/or started it, it's cancelable, but there would definitely be a charge.
Do you offer created diamonds?
To which countries do you ship?
I am sorry, because of the challenges of shipping abroad, I mostly just ship to the USA. I have shipped to Canada, France, the Netherlands and Israel- I don't say never, but you would need to contact me for shipping outside the US.
How does custom ordering work?
I get an idea of what you want and grab a sketch book. If you can come in and design with me, that's best, but if you aren't local, not to worry. I have a presence on Etsy @ https://goldcrafterscorner.etsy.com and pictures, sketches, orders can be handled through them.
I generally only stock genuine mined from the earth stones, but if you really want a synthetic, I will order it for you. Be aware that it will not hold value like the gems made by God do, and yes, there are testers that can tell the difference. Please read my blog...
